Parents Advice Which Every Ward Must Not Take

“It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings”, says Ann Landers. You might be wondering on the authenticity of this thought, as it doubts on parenting, also you are not wrong here. But, before we start an explanation on any note, let us make clear that, “Water which is safeguarded in a pond with an aim to store it, often gets putrid and hence useless, however, that which continues to flow in river is always fresh and worthy” same is with our children. Wao! What a suitable personified example this is.

Have you ever given a thought up on why admissions to IIT’s and UPSC’s are increasing exponentially from rural areas? Or how a ward of below poverty line parent becomes a high ranked officer devoid of all the amenities? Quiet, simple is the reason behind that rural parents allow their wards to work hard, harder and even hardest to earn their lively and this makes them very enterprising and dexterous to undertake any challenge in life. On the other part, urban parents ease every other efficacy to their kids that in turn make them paralyzed to do anything new on their own.

SupermanChallenged.com mentions in the same concern states that, “These kids who never have any accountability for their actions will continue through life thinking nothing is their fault, and everything is owed to them.” Urban parents often sheath their children by a thought that they are there to provide everything to them; hence children should not work hard. However, this feeling never allows such kids to take any responsibility on their plate. Furthermore, time demands hard work and passion from the youth now a day to excel in their respective fields. Thus, it becomes very challenging for urban talents to blossom in the adverse wind.

Moreover, may it be academic credentials or professional package, weight age in either or both can be weighed only by the hard work and sovereignty. Therefore, there are some parental advises which every ward must not take, in the lieu of over protection. Here comes the following –

• Do not sticky only to study – Definition of good student has changed now, gone are those days when studies hold the top position or say, when the rank were based only on studies. Currently, being all rounder and not merely a book worm, gives shiny image to a student. However, parents still feel reluctant to even think anything else apart from studies for their ward. But, one being either a parent or a child should never forget the example or stardom of famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who has hardly finished his basic education. This is just to remind you that undoubtedly studying is good to be true, but other fields are also not bad. Thus, be all rounder to be active and innovative, rather being dolt and dull. Remember, toppers are not always appreciated in job.
• Try to earn and learn – It’s hard to do this if we follow urban parent’s mentality. They generally wish to see their children completing their studies or higher studies first and then owing a prestigious job with a handsome package. This might be their extra sophisticated nature, limit to afford or a way to maintain their status symbol. Whatever may be the reason, but I believe that there is nothing wrong in earning and learning. In fact, it makes the child more self dependent, responsible and above all open minded.

Concluding all, it is as simple to understand as sky has no limits and one can’t explore it without flying, so just open your wings and fly high, success will definitely be yours.
